Esteban Ocampo Giraldo





Artist Biography:
Esteban Ocampo Giraldo is a Colombian artist, working with subjects of the familial and autobiographical in scenes that capture memory, nostalgia, and intimate moments in the domestic sphere. In his words, Giraldo paints, “an idea: the feeling of repeated experiences, which are always different in their own way, condensed into one image.” His work recreates memories and everyday experiences, often combing visual references from life, photography and his own imagination—reflecting the cross-cultural influence of his Columbian heritage and his visual exposure to American culture. Ocampo Giraldo has had solo exhibitions at ZieherSmith Gallery in Chelsea, NY, Gitler &_____ in New York, BRAS Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, Taller Abierto Gallery in Manizales, Colombia, and Casatinta Gallery in Bogota, Colombia, as well as countless group exhibitions.
